Well I still have to redesign my blog, and that is coming, but I got wrapped up in a bit of scrapping so that was put on hold. I also was accepted to be on the CT for Cinzia Designs! After drooling all over my keyboard while looking through her designs at OScraps I decided to send her an e-mail asking when she would be having her next CT. Long story short...a few hours and e-mails later she asked me to be on her CT! I couldn't be happier, and I'm LOVING working with her kits already!

Well it has been almost a year since I've posted here...Sooooo much has been going on! I decided to take a break from CT work. My personal life got extremely crazy, as well as my CT commitments, so I decided to take some time for myself and focus on what I wanted. After much soul searching I decided to pursue my love of photography, and in October 2010 I opened my own business Peace Love Click Photography.

The past month or so I have been missing Digi Scrapping very much, and decided to get my feet wet again with a digi dare. Well one little spark lit th

e fire, and I am back to scrapping again. It has always been my best therapy, and I'm very much enjoying my therapy sessions again. I do miss the desi

gners that I worked with and became so close with, but the two that I was the closest with have retired, and are moving on to new endeavors in their lives and I am very happy for them. I have made a decision to again be a part of a Creative Team, but I will only be on one, and have yet to find the designer I want to work with, but I am looking around, and have a few in mind that I would very much like to CT for.

Also, I will be re-designing my blog...it is in desperate need of being updated. So stay tuned for some new things, but in the mean time here is the page I did for this weeks digi dare.

Well I haven't posted in over a month...I've been crazy busy. I went on vacation with my girls to Myrtle Beach to have a family reunion vaca with my Nana, Mom, & sister. We had an awesome time relaxing on the beach, and I have TONS of pictures to edit & scrap...PLUS 2 days after we got home my hubby finally came home from Alaska!!!!!! It's been unbelievable having him home again, and the girls are just happy as can be.

I haven't had much time to get on the computer with everything thats been going on, and I haven't scrapped too much, but I did do this page for Digi Dares # 192 and I got the random pick for the challenge, plus my page was mentioned in the DST Gallery Standouts on the 18th!!!

Once the kids go back to school next week I'll have some time to put up some more pages I've done plus get some of my pictures scrapped!

I'm so in love with doing the weekly dare at The Digi Dares! Each dare stretches my creativity, and pushes me to go beyond my regular scrapping. This weeks dare was to do a page about something from your childhood that you wanted but never got and of course there are elements to the page that you have to do on your layout. Here is the page I did for dare # 185, and I have to say I really LOVE how it came out! This is NOT my normal style, but I just might be doing more like this!!!!!

Well I finally got to do some of my back work for Pixel Perfect Designs! This page is from her kit Beach Babe, and is a totally adorable beach kit for a little girl! You can find this kit over at Polka Dot Plum.

I also did another page with a kit that is coming out on July 7th. I can't show you the page I did yet, but here is a sneak peak at the kit....super cute & great for Disney fans!!!

Thank goodness I work with some great designers who understand I have a crazy life. Here is my page with this beautiful Mothers Day Kit called A Special Lady by Fishbowl Designs. It is a beautiful kit! Now I'm off to work on my other CT projects.

Maybe one day I'll get caught up enough to work with those awesome Mega Kits I just got!

I was all set to get back into the scrappin groove...my house was ALMOST all unpacked, and the kids had their last day of school when just as the kids were about to leave their last days of Kindergarten & 1st grade I got a call that my mother had a heart attack. The very next day I flew all over the country (seriously...I went from Austin TX to Atlanta GA, then to Laguardia Airport NY, then Charlotte NC and finally Myrtle Beach SC. It was the only way I could get there with less than a days notice) so that I could be there for her. She had to have tripple bypass surgery, and is recovering well now, thank you Lord!

I got back last Wednesday and had alot of cleaning to do, and I've just now gotten back to the computer to get my scrap fix, plus try to get caught up on my CT work. So here they are, a few pages I've done with some kits from Fishbowl Designs, plus one that somehow I forgot to post when the kit came out.

This first one is with her newest kit called Just Purples. I'm really loving doing pages with different shades of the same color. Now I cheated a little with this layout (I'm super tired) so I decided to used one of her Templates from her Fishfood Backgrounds.

This next one is of my mom's dog/baby Tucker. I took my mom & Tucky down to the beach only a week after her surgery to take some pictures of them together. This pup is just too funny, and was so much fun to take pictures of! I used Doodle Bug for this layout. This is just full of adorable little bugs and just SCREAMS summer picnic! Super cute kit!!! For the title I used her Fishin For Letters alpha chain kit. I really liked using these to make the title!

This last page is the one I forgot to post...oops! I used this beautiful kit & mini add on called Eco Earth that was created for Earth Day. I just ADORE this kit! The earthy colors & elements are just so beautiful!

One last thing before I go, cause I love a great sale, and I've just got to pass this along because I've been coveting some of these kits for a while, and well Sunshine Studio Scraps bundled 15 of their mega kits together for only $15! (these usually go for $6.00 each) I have no idea how long this sale will be going for this, so go grab it up while your getting the awesome Fishbowl Designs kits!

For those who don't know I had to make a very quick move. Long story short my landlord called me on April 30th and told me the house was being foreclosed on and I had to be out by May 15th! (yes...I was paying my rent, but apparently she wasn't paying her mortgage with my rent money!)

It all turned out to be okay, I found a beautiful 4 bed/3 bath house in the next town over with 1.3 acres for the kids to play on, and we got moved in on the 15th. For the past few weeks I've been packing & unpacking in the new place and just this week found my computer...YAY! After an extremely stressful month I'm really looking forward to having some scrap therapy which is desperately needed right now! Last night I did a page for my ct for My 4 Princesses Designs with an adorable kit called Here Comes The Sun which can be found at Enchanted Studio Scraps. (or just click on the kit title)

Hopefully tonight I'll be able to work with some other kits from my ct's that I'm long over due on...thankfully the designers were understanding of what was going on! (I <3 you guys!!!!) Maybe I'll even get to scrap some of the pics of the new house!!!!

Digi Dare Time

I heard about this blog The Digi Dares where each week someone gives out a dare for others to scrap. I was a little nervous about participating, not thinking I could come up with anything that would even remotely compare with the amazing scrappers that participate in this challenge, but last night as I was laying in bed my idea came to me for my layout, and first thing this morning I started working on it. I am soooooo happy with how it came out!

I used a kit that is no longer available called My Big Adventure. It was a collaboration kit done to raise money for Autism Speaks. Not only is it an awesome kit, but for a cause close to my heart.

I tell ya, the day I get organized is the day I'm gonna take over the world, cause if I can manage everything I do in the chaotic state that is my life, I'd be pretty darn dangerous if it was all organized! But we all know that will probably NEVER happen!

Anyways...here are a few pages that I did last week before my head attempted to explode, and in the midst of trying to get everything back on track it slipped my mind to post these up here.

This first one was with a darling kit called Makenzye's Garden by Pixel Perfect Designs. I did a Guest CT for her for this kit, and I absolutley LOVED LOVED LOVED working with it! So many adorable elements, and the paper was beautiful! You can go grab this kit over at Digital Scrap Ink or just click here.

This one was with Just Pinks by Fishbowl Designs. If you follow my blog you will know that I did a previous page with Just Greens last week...notice a theme going on here? Well your right...she is doing a series of kits focused on all different colors. Well, I love pink, so when this one came up I decided to do a LO about me, not something I usually do, but heck why not! So the CT for Fishbowl Designs has decided that when everyone's favorite color comes up they are going to do a page about themselves. I can't wait to see what Anne (the designer for Fishbowl Designs) does when the Just Purples comes out! So thats it for now...I have alot more pages to do since I didn't get much done last week and I'm falling a little behind.

LOTD during a migraine

This has been a rough week for me. Whenever I get one of my wonderful migraines it just knocks me out for a while, and this week was no different. I get real lethargic & cranky before it happens, and then whammo it hits and I'm usless. Luckily this one didn't last for days, but it still takes it's toll on me.

While I was away from the digi scrappin world I received the Layout of the Day at Enchanted Studio Scraps for my Spring has Sprung layout (the one in the post below this one)! I am so excited, but the credit has to go to the awesome designer for making such an awesome kit! I used My 4 Princesses Designs kit called KT's Flower Garden.

I'll be working on some more pages this weekend (if the kids let me) PLUS I'm working on a new project (not scrapbook related) that I'll be showcasing on my Reno Creations Blog sometime in the next week or so, so watch out for that!

I was accepted to be a part of My 4 Princesses Designs, and I couldn't be happier! She has the most adorable kits! She designs exclusively for Enchanted Studio Scraps, and you can check out her kits Here. This is the first page with her newest kit called KT's Flower Garden...you all know how I love things that sparkle...and this kit is filled with GLITTER!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!! Super cute butterflies & ladybugs + glitter= a happy scrapper over here! I had a blast making this page, and I can't wait to work with more of her kits!

BTW...thank you for the comments on the Soccer Kit! Your feedback really makes me want to make another one. I just have to get some house cleaning done first before I can start a new kit ;)

Soccer Chick Mini Kit Freebie

So yesterday when I was looking for soccer stuff I noticed that everything was geared towards the boys. I have 2 girls, so this just didn't work for me! So this morning I decided I HAD to make a kit geared towards the girls...and here you have it "Soccer Chick"! This mini kit includes 16 Elements, 4 Papers, 1 Frame & 1 Mask. Soccer Frame Freebie

Last Day Of Soccer

Well today is Skylar's last soccer game, and this afternoon she has her team party. She is very sad that the season has come to an end, but she now has a new love for the game, and is looking forward to the next season. To remember her first season of soccer I made these pages for her!

This first one was made with 3 Dog Design's kit called Punked. It is an adorable Punk/Rock Stary/Skater kinda kit. It is now available at My Life & Scrap and it is 25% off until April 16th!

The second one I made for her was with a template from Fisbowl Designs and I used the mega collab kit from Sunshine Studios called Twilight. The kit is filled with night time themed papers and elements, and the template is included in the collab kit. It is on sale for only $3...so grab it up now because I'm not sure how much longer the sale will go on, after that it goes up to $6!!! I love the collab kits from there, and I hate that I've missed some of the sales they have had on these awesome kits.

And of course I had to do a page with my other munchkin! This one is one of the Easter pages for this year, and I have MANY more to do. I used a great kit by Fishbowl Designs called Just Greens and it is the perfect go to kit for anything green(plus it is on sale too! I will be using this one for some upcoming bluebonnet pics, so stay tuned for those.

I haven't forgotten about the promised quick pages from my last post. I've been uber busy and haven't had the chance to complete them yet...I want them to be "just perfect" for you all. So bear with me, and I will get those to you soon! Have a wonderful day!

Daffodil Dreams

Today was the first day of the Sunshine Studio's Easter blog train...and it ROCKS!!! Follow the blog train and you will get 98 papers, 184 elements, 4 different alphas, glitter and 2 templates!!!! Photography Textures

I love taking pictures...I wouldn't exactly call myself a photographer, but I am getting better with my Nikon every time I use it, and thanks to the wonderful world of Photoshop I can edit my pics to make them even better.

Textures so much fun to use, and for the picture above I used a texture from Fishbowl Designs Grungy Overlays 2 kit. I really like the texture it gave this picture...it almost has a painting feel to it.

FYI...the new layouts with the Daffodil Dreams Kit will be posted on Saturday. This is a beautiful kit I can't wait for you all to see it!!!

An old Favorite & New stuff coming

I was searching thru some old pics and came across this pic of Skylar with her 2 teeth that are now missing, and I just had to do a layout with that pic and one of the pictures I took today that showed her missing those 2 little teeth.

I used a 3 Dog Designs kit called Rainbow Connection for this page...it is one of my all time favorite kits.

I have done a few other new layouts, but the kits are still waiting to go thru the QC process, so as soon as those are thru I will be posting them asap, so stay tuned for new layouts!!!

Alaska...Diamonds, Snowshoes, Ice Sculptures & Shotguns

I've been home for 3 days now and I'm still reeling with excitement from my trip!

When I got to the Anchorage airport it was snowing...softly falling from the sky these beautiful little flakes from heaven! I was in awe of how beautiful the snow there was...it just glittered in the lights! I was at the airport for 7 hours, so I walked around where I could and took pictures of the poor stuffed (and I mean taxidermy, not kids toys) animals that were displayed all over the airport, several different brown bears, a wolf, bald eagle, polar bears. I also read Water For Elephants (great book...I highly recommend it!) to stay awake because I was so afraid I would fall asleep and get my luggage stolen or miss my next flight.

I got to Fairbanks and my hubby was there waiting for me. It was so great to see him and his smile just warmed my heart! He had to work, so he brought me back to the apartment so I could get some sleep, I'd been up for about 36 hours by then, but I was just so excited to be there that I couldn't sleep even though I was completely exhausted. We just relaxed that night and snuggled up together watching movies, I was way too tired to go anywhere or do anything and I got a little ticked off when he asked me to go get him a pillow, but little did I know he had hidden my anniversary present under it. I didn't even see it when I snatched the pillow off the bed and threw it at him, so he told me to go back and look on the bed where the pillow had been, and there was my necklace... a black & white diamond teardrop with the shared hearts. I LOVE this design, and what makes it even better is that part of the proceeds go to the Autism Speaks foundation!

The next day was our 7 year anniversary, and we went to Chena Hot Springs, which was amazing. The natural spring runs about 105 degrees and is nestled in between some of the most beautiful mountains I had ever seen! That night we went to the Silver Gulch for appetizers, then to the Turtle Club for our anniversary dinner. Nothing like prime rib and Alaskan king crab legs to celebrate 7 years of not killing each other! (he says I just haven't found the poison yet LOL)

The rest of the week was very laid back and relaxed, which is exactly what I needed. He would go to work and I would just chill out and watch movies or walk around a bit, and when he came home we would go out for dinner at some of his favorite spots up there and drive around and see the beautiful scenery. Geraldo's was unbelievable...the best Italian food I've had since I left NY! Another place I loved was this bar/restaurant in the middle of the mountains with nothing else around. I walked in and the owners dog was just laying by the front door. The bar stools were tree stumps with a cushion on top, and there were dollar bills all over the ceiling (not an inch of uncovered space) and on the walls with people's names & the date they were there written on them. There was a room in the back with an antique car in it, and moose heads and bear skins hanging on the walls, there was even a wood burning stove in the corner of one of the rooms. The bartender/waitress was hysterical and had us laughing the whole time we were there. She was the only one working because everyone else was setting up for the outhouse races they were having the next day...no shit...outhouse races! (pun intended) Of course we put our dollar bill up on the wall...had to leave our mark ;)

One day he brought me to work with him so I could see what exactly it was that he does. It was interesting, and I got to drive a military hummer which was cool. Another day I took a cab to see the world Ice Sculpting contest...that was just beautiful! I didn't get to see any being made as the contest had ended the week before, but the sculptures were simply amazing! They even had an entire playground sculpted from ice for kids to play on, along with an ice maze, and ice slides! Afterward I went to Barnes & Noble and they had a huge fireplace in the middle of the store with big fluffy chairs all around it. I nearly fell asleep in the chair while reading there. He picked me up after work and we went to a sporting goods store there. We had been talking about home security, and even though our darling Bolt is intimidating at first, it only takes a second to realize he is a big goof ball and the only thing he would do to someone is lick them to death! So needless to say my second anniversary gift was a 12 gauge shotgun! (how romantic) I wanted the pretty pink handgun, but you have to live there 3 months before you can buy a handgun, so I got a shotgun and told him I was gonna bedazzle it!

My last weekend there we went to Denali National Park. All I can say is O M G !!!!!!! The drive there was jaw droppingly beautiful! He definitely saved the best for last! I was in awe of how beautiful the mountains were...like nothing I've ever seen in my life! We could only go so far into the park because the roads were covered in snow, but we went into the Learning Center, and got there just before they were about to go on a snowshoe hike! Talk about lucking out, our timing was perfect! The hike was amazing, and the guide was great! I learned all about how the different animals survive the 40 below weather up there while walking through the most beautiful forest I'd ever seen.

In short (ha ha...a little late for that) I got to see the snow fall (3 days), I saw dog sled races, ice sculptures, chena hot springs, and Mt. McKinley(at Denali). Almost all of the things I wanted to see and do I did! The only things that I didn't get to see were the Northern Lights (they weren't bright enough to see while I was there) and a moose. I guess I'll just have to go back! :D

Oh, and so I don't forget...the Layout above was done with Butterflies & Buttercups by Fishbowl Designs. I have so many more pictures I can't wait to scrap them all!!!!

Valentines Day means AWESOME KITS!

I've always loved Valentines Day...the love in the air just gives me the warm fuzzies! Unfortunately this year I wasn't able to spend it with my hubby, but I was able to play with these AWESOME mini kits by 3 Dog Designs!

Both kits will be available the first week of March at MLAS, and until they are released you should check out the other kits she has there! 3 Dog Designs is one of my favorite designers and she just opened her store there this past week. I am so fortunate to be part of her Creative Team!

ok... so I found this awesome kit called Lovers Walk (it's a grab bag) at Sunshine Studio Scraps that I had to get...and once I got it I had to play! The kit is HUGE with 70+ papers, over 100 elements, templates and an action for only $3.00!!!!

I will be making alot more pages with this kit, but real life is calling, and I only had time to make one page with it. I hope you like it!

After 2 months it feels so good to scrap again! I really did miss it, but with so much going on I just couldn't find the time or the inspiration to do anything!

This month at Scrappity Doo Dah I got assigned to LDrag Designs. WOW, what an awesome designer. The first kit I used was Butterfly's Whisper. It's alot of a softer kit than I usually work with, but I LOVED working with it, and it brought out a new creative side of me. Thanks so much for this beautiful kit Lina! I am so excited I can finally post this page! The Denim & Dasies Grand Opening was this weekend and the mini kit I used for this was done by 3 Dog Designs for the Grand Opening Blog Train. It flew right by, and I feel like I didn't get any scrapping done, but I know I spent alot of time on Photoshop! What the heck did I do this week?

I know on Tuesday was Kooky Spooky night at the girls school. It's a night where the kids get to go to school in their costumes and there are all different types of halloween themed educational activities for the kids....plus there were cookies and juice! I got some really cute pictures of the girls, and I've only scrapped one so far(you'll see that in a little bit).

Oh, Digi Overdose created a new kit called Swept Away. It's a beautiful black and white kit, and I created these pages with it. This first one is called Gentle Strength and the photo is by MRC Photography.

This second one is of my DD's amazing blue eyes

So I got those done at the beginning of the week, but the kit wasn't released until today so I couldn't post them until now. What else......hmmmm

Oh, here is the layout of Allison from Kooky Spooky night. I used MC-Design's Warm Thoughts Kit for this.

Then I think I spent the rest of the week working on the blog design for DigiScraps3, along with creating all the CT, Designer, and Fan blinkies. You can check out the blog design here.

New Blog Design & More

Well I finally got this blog design thing down! The last time I messed with it I thought I was going to pull all my hair out...but a little more practice and whala! I'm so excited!!! (see it really is the little things in life that make me happy!!!)

I haven't scrapped much the past week. I had to do a massive cleaning of my house because I had the landlord coming over with the realtor to take a look at it. We are trying to purchase the house we've been renting for the past 5 years, so please keep your fingers crossed for us that all goes well. The scrapping I did do this week was mostly for a friend, so I'm not going to post them up here, but I did do this page with a kit by Digi Overdose called Snow Me Your Love. It is the daily download kit at Scrappity Doo Dah.

Scrapping really is therapy for me

and you can usually tell when I'm having a bad day or a good day by the amount of pages that I do. Today wasn't the greatest of days, hence several pages got done! (and it helped that the kids were at my in-law's playing with their cousin for a few hours today so I wasn't interrupted)

This first one is actually from a speed scrap at Gotta Pixel last night. I loved the freedom we got with this speed scrap, and I'm very happy with the results! I used some silly pics from last weekend at the pumpkin patch....heck after taking almost 400 pics there was about to be one or two that were funny! So I figured I would use those to make a fun page. I used Three Dog Designs Sassy Garden Kit for this layout.

This one I call the Pumpkin Truck (I'm so original aren't I?!?!) I used a collaboration kit called Autumn Wishes. You can hop on the blog train that I got this kit from here and just follow along until you collect the entire kit. This is a very cute kit, and has so much in it!

I must be missing my husband today, something I do every day when he's traveling, but I try not to let it get to me. Today must have been one of those days where it was getting to me cause I did the next few layouts with pics of him. I'm not a mushy or romantic kinda person, but he really is my everything. I should probably tell him that more often.

Anyways...here is one I did of him when he was in Alaska. I love love love this picture of him!!! On this layout I used Backyard Adventures by Bekah E. Designs. I've had this kit for a while now, and this is the first time I've used it. I love the deep colors in it, and I'll be using it again real soon!

This one is Kisses, and I used Three Dog Designs kit called Rainbow Connection. What a super cute kit filled with tons of papers and elements!!! I got the inspiration for this page from a scraplift challenge. Here is the original page that was my inspiration.

And one last challenge for the day was a numbers challenge. I had to use 1 picture that was at least 1/2 of the layout size AND be black & white with color accent, one word art, and one solid paper. Then I could journal and add elements as I wished. I've been holding on to this word art for a while to scrap this picture, and this was the perfect time to do it! I used a kit called Magical Wonderland that I won from the scavenger hunt on Scrappity Doo Dah. All the great designers there put this kit together and WOWZERS it's a great one!
So that's it for today. I'm going to go crash out on the couch and watch some CSI. Have a great weekend everyone!

Earlier this week I got a few layouts done but never got a chance to post them. This first one was from a challenge at Scrappity Doo Dah. (If you haven't check out that site yet get your booty over there and check them out...they rock!!!) The kit I used here is called My Big Adventure, and it is a huge collaboration kit put together to support Autism research. 100% of the proceeds from this kit go to the Autism Society of America! Besides it being a ROCKIN kit it is for a cause close to my heart! If you would like to purchase this kit it can be found here.

This last one is made with a kit called Halloween Buddies by Jeannie Marie's Scraps. There are some really adorable elements in this kit!!!

Scrappity-Doo-Dah (one of the site's where I'm on the Creative Team) has just re-vamped their site and it is sooooo darn cute! If your into digital scrapbooking they are having some awesome sales to celebrate the new look, plus a bunch of challenges and games!

Here is a few more layouts I did with the Best Witches Kit by Designs by Hutchie. This is such an adorable kit, and there is sooooo much in it!

The second page isn't one of my favorites....not really my style (but I already blogged about that) but I was playing with all of the different elements in this kit and when I saw that awesome haunted house I knew I had this picture from last Halloween and thought ohhh...that could be cute!

It's almost time to pick up the kiddos...and I'm now down to 2. Melina is no longer quarantined and is going to see her kids for the first time in a week today after school!!! I know she is super excited, and so are the kids! I should probably bring my camera because I know it is going to be craziness!!! I'm happy for her but sad at the same time. We really had a lot of fun having everyone here...boy is it going to be quiet tonight! LOL

Crazy Busy!

Wow, what a weekend it was! Not only did I get accepted as a Creative Team Member for Relocated Dixie Girl and Fishbowl Designs (a joint CT) and Three Dog Designs, but I was also offered spots on the Scrappity-Doo-Dah Creative Team AND Digi Top 3! Both of those will begin on October 1st, and I am so honored and excited to be a part of those teams! Today I got a jump start on a kit for Designs by Hutchie from Scrappity-Doo-Dah called Best Witches. The kit is simply adorable, and there is so much in it! I wish I had more time during the day to do more pages with it because the hardest part of doing the page below was trying to decide "witch" papers and elements to use...he he he...I crack myself up! Once all the kids go to sleep I'll probably do a few more pages with it.

This next layout I did today was with a kit called Your Awesome and I'm Not Lion! by Connie Prince. How cute is that name?!?! And the kit is equally adorable! The pictures are from Allison's birthday last year when I took my girls and my friends kids to the Zoo. This sweet lion so graciously gave us an up close and personal look at her...have you ever been 12" from the mouth of a lion? Even with a huge glass window between you it is VERY intimidating!

I might post more tonight...but then again I might just pass out with the kids...who knows! LOL I'm sure if you asked my husband he'd put money on the second option! Anyways, thanks for looking!

I got accepted to be on the Creative Team for Three Dog Designs...woo hoo!!!! This is now my second creative team, and it is so exciting! This is my first kit for her (well the first one I can show...there's a kit in the making and man your gonna LOVE it once it is released) and I used the My Little Cowgirl Kit. I can't wait to make more with this one, and the others she has!

I got a little down time today, so of course I hopped right on PSE and had to do a page. The speed scrap last night was so much fun I decided to use those instructions again, but changed some things around this time, and this is what I got!

What a Wild & Crazy Day

So today started off like every other one...coffee, get the kids ready for school, come home and get on the computer. I've been fighting off a headache for a few days now...darn thing has just been lingering, not a full blown migraine, but enough to be extremely irritating. I tried to lay down in the morning, but hubby called from Germany so I talked to him for a bit, then got back on the computer. Thats when I got the e-mail asking me to be part of the CT for Relocated Dixie Girl and Fishbowl designs...I'm still super stoked about that! Shortly after I got a scary call from my dear friend. I could barely understand her because she was crying, and I couldn't make out what she was saying. My first thought was oh crap, something happened to her husband or brother (both are currently in Iraq) but then she said she had to go to the doctors, and would I pick up the kids from school. Well long story short she somehow came down with the H1N1 virus, also known as Swine Flue. Me, being the wonderful friend that I am will be giving her plenty of crap about this once she is feeling better....I better write down the one liners and puns so that I remember them, cause I have the worst memory in the world! In the meantime, she is quarintined to her house, and her kids are gonna be spending the weekend here with me. My kids are totally stoked about this, and as long as no major fights break out between the 5 of them I think it will be alot of fun. Since I don't think I'll be doing any scrapping this weekend I'll post my last lay out of the week. I missed the speed scrap at Gotta Pixel this evening, but followed the directions after it was over and came up with this page. It is so cool seeing how everyone interprets the directions differently, and I really enjoy doing speed scraps. So here it is...my "Say Cheese" page. I used a kit from Mel Haines Designs called what else...Say Cheese! Have a great weekend everyone! I'll be back to scrappin on Monday!!

All For Fall Freebie

Oh how I love the fall!!! The beautiful changing colors of the leaves, the cool brisk air, pulling your favorite sweater from the top of the closet and wrapping yourself in it...too bad most of that doesn't happen here in TX till November! (except for the leaves...they just turn brown and fall off over night) But we do go pumpkin picking, and the mums are beautiful, plus it means my birthday is right around the corner!

The weather here doesn't cool down till around Halloween, even though tomorrow is officially the first day of fall! I have seen so many beautiful Fall kits (and I'm working on one of my own) so I figured I would make a fall inspired page today. The pic is from last year on my birthday when I took the kids to Sweetberry Farms in Marble Falls, TX. It is the only place around here that kind of has a pumpkin patch. Well it's more like a TON of pumpkins put together on the ground...no vines or leaves or anything like back home, but hey, it works! They do have tons of stuff for the kids to do, plus a hayride to a wild flower fields that is just beautiful. I will be taking the kids there again in a few weeks for my birthday...but till then I figured I would use a cute picture from last years excursion. Enjoy!

Pixel Club

I finally broke down and joined the Pixel Club at GottaPixel this weekend...I wasn't going to since we are trying to save money, but I did, and BOY WAS IT WORTH IT! The kits are beautiful...and there are so many!!!

The pictures were taken in April at the bluebonnet fields in Brenham TX. We had such a great time that day just driving around taking pictures! It was so beautiful...just fields and fields of Bluebonnets everywhere.

I made this page with their kit called "Gypsy" and I really like how it came out. The colors in this kit are beautiful don't you think? I can't wait to do more pages with all of the kits from the Pixel Club!!!!!

Going beyond the norm

I've been having so much fun doing all of these challenges...they are really pushing me to go beyond my normal comfort zone, and I'm really loving the results! This challenge was to use 2 papers, one pattern one plain, one picture used twice, one frame, one element, and two texts or fonts. I really thought the one element was going to be the hardest part of this challenge, but now that I look back at the finished lay out I think if I had any more elements it would taken away from the focus of the layout...the picture!

a challenge for me

Everyone has a different style of scrapbooking that they prefer...it's kind of like ice cream, some like chocolate, others like vanilla. Both are great, but you tend to like one more than the other.

I prefer a more traditional scrapbooking look, and when this challenge came about to scraplift a page where the individual was extracted from the photo my first thought was to pass. That is not a style that I like doing, but then I thought about it and figured Heck why not! Trying something different is the whole purpose of a challenge!

So I created this page this page...I'm still not sure if I even like it, but it is something different, and I figured I would put it up here. It took me forever to complete it, and looks NOTHING like the page I was supposed to scraplift, but once I got started it kinda took on a life of it's own.

Well lucky me I get to play today! The kids went to grandmas house, and guess what I'm doing...yeah not big surprise there! I was going to wait to post till this evening, and post all of the layouts I do today at one time, but that's not going to happen!

So this first one is one of my favorite pics from MRC Photography. I love her work, and I wanted to do a few pages for her. This is the first of them...I call it Garden Baby. This picture just reminds me of a baby in the Garden of Eden...hence the name Garden Baby!

Since the summer is officially over next week I thought I'd put together this summer page...better late than never! I love this pic of all the kids, and I had to do a FUN layout for it.

Speed Scrap Fun!

I just love Gotta Pixel and tonight Connie Prince, one of the awesome designers for them hosted a Speed Scrap. This was the first time I did one live, the other I did was after the speed scrap was already over and I followed the instructions and created the page, but this was so much more fun!

This is the page I created tonight during the speed scrap. This is my fraternal grandmother with my cousin and myself sometime around 1976 or 1977. I used an adorable kit called Chilli and Chocolate that you can find here.

I'm not sure how much I will be able to get done this weekend. My husband left for Germany today, and whenever he leaves Allison goes into a bit of a funk. She is such a Daddy's Girl and she really hates it when he has to leave. So I'm going to try and keep the kids busy this weekend. Hope you all have a great one!!!

Trying to create my own kit

I haven't posted in a few days because I've been busy with some other things latley and haven't been doing much scrapping. I've been in front of the sewing machine again making some camera strap covers that you can check out on my other blog. I've also been watching and reading a lot of tutorials on how to design my own scrapbooking kit. It's been a bumpy road, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. Once I complete the kit I will post the entire thing, but for now here is a little sneak peek of what I've been working on. I still need to make a frame or two, and some ribbon, and a few other elements. I hope to have this done by the end of the week if not sooner.

I spent most of the day yesterday scrapping, here are a few more of my creations. This first one is another lay out using Cherie Shields When you were 17 kit. Have I said how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE this kit!

Then these next two I did using a template from gotta pixel.

I love that site! There are some great scrapbookers there, and there are lots of great challenges in addition to the wonderful store they have.

Later on today I might scrap some September 11th pictures I have. Not sure if I will or not, but I think I will give it a try. Everyone please remember what happened to us 8 years ago today. I know it is a day I will never forget.

I haven't been able to do much since my husband came home from Alaska last week. WOO HOO...YIPPIE...HALELUAH...THE KIDS WENT BACK TO SCHOOL!

With that being said of course there were tons of pictures taken this morning, and now that the house is nice an quiet I was able to put these pages together without any distractions....ahhhhh it's so nice!

Don't get me wrong, I love my girls dearly and I do miss them when they are at school, but there is something special about the quiet that falls upon the house on the first day of school. All of the chaos of the summer just seems to melt away, the routine of everyday life begins again, and things just seem calmer. A part of me is sad because my baby started Kindergarten today...her first day of REAL school. But that just means new adventures are ahead for us!

I haven't been using photoshop very long...a few weeks maybe, and I've been having alot of fun with it! Making scrapbook pages, playing with pictures, stuff like that. Now all of the scrapbooking stuff I've downloaded from various places, I've never made anything from scratch.

When I created this blog I used a pre-made layout from Shabby Blogs, and my friend Melina asked me to make her a banner like the one I used here, but in black and white. Well I've never done anything like that before, but I figured I would give it a shot. I did find pre-made damask paper and flourish swirls, but everything I found I would have had to pay for, and being the cheepo that I am I wasn't going to do that. So I set out on an adventure to find out how to create my own stuff! There are so many great tutorials out there, and before I knew it I was learning about patterns and brushes and all sorts of fun things.

Finally after all of my research I finished her banner this evening. I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the result. I really enjoyed making it, and now I think I'll be trying to make some of my own scrapbooking items!

Best Buddies

Ever since Thursday's Meet The Teacher night Skylar has been talking about her little buddy. That night she looked all over for him, and couldn't find him. She even had me look on her class roster to see if he was in her class, and when she found out he wasn't she had me look at ALL the rosters to find out which class he was in. As we were leaving and I was turning the Jeep around we saw him and his family walking up to the school, and I pulled over so she could say hi...well she nearly climbed out of the back window when she saw him, so I opened the door to let her out and she flew out of the Jeep and the two of them hugged each other like two lovers who hadn't seen each other in 10 years! It was very comical to say the least. When she got back in the Jeep she was BEAMING with joy! She looked at me, and very coyly told me how he had said she was beautiful....ahhhh young love!

She is so excited to see him on Monday for the first day of school, and all of her jabbering inspired me to do this page of the two of them from water day at the end of the last school year.

I wanted to do one last page before I went to bed. This is the most pictures I've put on a digi page so far, and I think it's cute. I'm still learning so much, it seems the possibilities are just endless!

I was so excited when I found this cupcake kit called Sweet Stuff To Scrap by Honey Designs! I LOVE cupcakes, and when I saw this kit I knew I was going to make a special page just for me.

I always scrap the kids, my hubby, the dogs, but never myself because usually I'm the one taking the pictures, therefore I'm not in them!

But a few weeks ago Melina got some new editing software and we decided to take a few shots of me so she could play with it some more, and whala...a picture of me! Then I found this amazing kit and whala...a scrapbook page of me!

The Beginning

Since I don't want to flood my Reno Creations Blog with tons of digital scrapbook pages I figured I would start a blog just for that, and here it is.

I've been doing traditional scrapbooking, card making, and all other kinds of crafts for the past 4 years, and I honestly never thought I would ever be interested in digital scrapbooking, but like the saying goes Never Say Never, because now I am hooked!

Let me start by saying I have not yet begun to create my own items for my projects. Everything I have done I have used someone work. I would love to give credit to everyone, but honestly I lost track of where I got all of the kits from. I downloaded several of them from two peas in a bucket, free digital scrapbooking, and shabby princess, but I think some of my favorite that I have found so far come from Honey Designs. Two peas in a bucket has a HUGE selection of free items, and is a great place to start if your new to digital like I am!
